Background

Hyalite is the retail side of the Dome Group, selling hydroponic and horticulture supplies across Australia and New Zealand.

The Hyalite websites offer thousands of products for sale across multiple categories and brands.

The goal for the website build was to integrate with Dome Group's SAP system to ensure all stock and pricing is available in real time to customers in these regions.

We also needed to share products for sale on eBay and Google Shopping and make sure that searching for products was fast and accurate.

We need to let you know we didn't do this all on our own. The Hyalite website is a great example that shows the power of Integrations to make a highly functional eCommerce website.

  • Stock pricing and availability is accessed via an API to Dome's SAP system. SAP is also used to manage Click and Collect from stores across Australia and New Zealand.
  • For fast searching we used Algolia to index the product database, so that search results can be retrieved instantly, rather than making our database overwork. These products indexes are updated regularly each day to ensure customers have access to the latest data.
  • To list products for sale on eBay we used Channel Advisor. For eBay it is is extremely important that stock levels and pricing are accurate in real time.
  • For Google Shopping we regularly send product data feeds using Google Merchant. This allows us to display thousands of products for sale in Google search engine.
  • For payments we use Stripe Payment Gateway, Paypal and After Pay.
  • Finally to optimise delivery costs we use Ship Station to find the best shipping rates, and allow the warehouse team to effectively optimise fulfilment of orders with customer tracking links via multiple couriers. 

The shopping cart functionality holding all these pieces together is our internal Bridgeway Merchant software built on the Laravel PHP Framework.

The marketing team at Hyalite has a powerful solution that  allows In-house management of stock availability, product releases, promotions and discounts.

Customers are able to easily navigate a website that provides accurate information, availability and pricing for the entire Hyalite product range.
